Session Room 3 The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) Technology Summit takes on The Challenge of Home Entertainment Networking
Enjoy a continental breakfast hosted by MoCA.
Introduction: Charles Cerino, President of MoCA & Anton Monk, PhD, CTO of MoCA
As digital HD video becomes the expected experience in a home entertainment environment and implemented in parallel with innovations in home networking technology, it becomes possible for consumers to enjoy HD video content in new and exciting ways that allows for the distribution of multiple HD video streams simultaneously while enabling new services such as multi-room digital video recording (DVR) and mobile remote viewing. The challenge when streaming HD video over a home network is degraded quality. The only way for a home network to meet and exceed quality expectations is to provide uncompromised reliability and throughput regardless of the viewing mechanism (HD Flat Panels, mobile devices, distributed/time shifted viewing). This challenge is further exacerbated by inherent low-throughput and latency-insensitive data throughout the home for applications such as email and web page downloading which do not provide the type of infrastructure that can reliably stream high-bandwidth video.
The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) Technology Summit will address these challenges through a panel of Service Provider and OEM experts who will provide overviews of home network environments and the challenges they face. There will also be a presentation by IMS Research and numerous product demonstrations by MoCA members.
MoCA officers, operators and MoCA members will be available throughout the Summit to meet and answer any questions. MoCA officers will also provide organizational and technology updates that address the challenges facing service providers, installers, and designers of home entertainment networks.

Session Room 1 Marketing Session: Marketing Smarter: Using Resources to Gain Subscribers and ARPU NOW The days of waiting for the phone to ring are long over. The days of knocking on every door and falling upon subscribers is long over. The days of dialing every number and closing sales is long over. Not only has competition forced us to be better at telling the “cable story” but we now must be sure we get the “whole” subscriber! And get the “best” subscribers! The battle for the high ARPU subscriber has forced operators to be smart marketeers using new and innovative tools to find and communicate with these highly desirable ARPU significant subscribers. This session will look at the new tools for finding the best (read, highest ARPU) subscribers and how to most effectively communicate with them.
